Yamato Takeru, localized into English as Orochi, the Eight-Headed Dragon, is a Japanese film from 1994. The film begins as twin boys are born, the sons of the emperor of Japan. The emperor believes that one son, Ousu, is an ill omen and soon demands that the child be put to death. However, divine intervention and the emperor's loving sister see that Ousu is protected and cared for outside of the palace until he reaches adulthood. When Ousu eventually does return, circumstances result in exile until he can manage to defeat the godlike hydra that goes by the name Orochi.
