The show's host, Arisa Cox, welcomes the viewers to the season, and introduces the 14 new houseguests who will be competing for the grand prize over the next few months. After the introductions, the houseguests take their first walk around the house, admiring the decor and trying to get comfortable in their new surroundings.

Once everyone has had a chance to settle in, the first challenge of the season begins. The houseguests are told to divide themselves into two groups, and each group must choose a team captain. The two captains will then compete in a mental and physical challenge, and the winning captain will have the power to select the first set of nominees for eviction.

The two captains are chosen based on a task where the houseguests are blindfolded, spinning around, and trying to locate specific items in the house. Esteem, an entrepreneur from Ontario, and Kailyn, a bartender from Alberta, are the two captains chosen.

The first challenge of the season involves navigating an obstacle course while answering questions about the other houseguests. The twist is that the houseguests must be weighed down with bags of water as they try to navigate the course. The challenge is close, but Esteem pulls out a victory, securing her spot as the first captain of the season.

With Esteem victorious, she now has the power to select two houseguests for nomination for eviction. The houseguests all try to plead their case to her, but ultimately Esteem decides to nominate Laura and Maki for eviction.
