John Crichton and Chiana find themselves stranded on a planet with no memory of their previous encounter with the natives. They are quickly taken prisoner and introduced to a Yensch named Yondalao. The Yensch are a unique species that resemble balls of energy and communicate telepathically. Yondalao reveals that he has been researching wormhole technology and believes that John has the ability to create a stable wormhole. However, in order to access this ability, John and Chiana must undergo a dangerous and painful procedure.
