Kodocha Season 1 Episode 6 Crazy Stew Family Crisis

Sana and her mother are being hosted by Naozumi's family in Kyoto for a brief period. As they settle into their new environment, Sana notices that Naozumi's family is quite peculiar and eccentric. Naozumi's mother is experimental with her cooking, and the family business is selling homemade weird and bizarre food. They even have an in-house laboratory where they experiment with new recipes.

Sana and Naozumi are served a mysterious and odd dish one evening, which they find unappetizing and difficult to eat. However, they soon realise that the dish is poisonous when they fall ill. Naozumi's family is equally affected, and they all rush to the hospital.

As the family recuperates, Sana discovers that the family had been growing strange ingredients in their fields, causing the odd flavours in their food. They were experimenting with various recipes in hopes of expanding their business, which put their family and customers in jeopardy. Sana helps the family to understand the importance of safety and taking ingredients seriously. She ropes them in to create a new and safe recipe, which they eventually succeed.

The episode ends with Sana and Naozumi enjoying the tasty new stew that they all worked on together, as they look forward to more happy memories in Kyoto.
