- 24 min
Sana's ninth episode introduces a new character named Tsuyoshi, Sana's classmate. As soon as Tsuyoshi saw Sana, he was instantly smitten, much to Sana's dismay. Tsuyoshi and Sana end up working on a play together, which soon turns out to be a love story where Sana's character is involved in a love triangle. As they rehearsed for the play, Tsuyoshi often makes it evident how much he likes Sana, which makes Sana uncomfortable.
Sana, on the other hand, is already struggling with the love triangle plot that the play is portraying, as she does not have any romantic interests in anyone. However, she still takes her role seriously and tries to make the audiences believe in the love story the characters are trying to portray.
As the play is getting closer and closer to its opening night, Sana becomes even more uneasy around Tsuyoshi. She could not turn Tsuyoshi down as she was afraid it would hurt his feelings. She, therefore, decided to tell him that she likes someone else, hoping it would discourage him. Instead of being discouraged, Tsuyoshi insisted that he would wait for her.
Sana then turned to her friends, who suggested that she should try to make Tsuyoshi dislike her instead. However, her attempt at being unpleasant pushed Tsuyoshi away instead of turning him off her. Her friends then suggested that if she wanted Tsuyoshi to stop pursuing her, then she had to find him someone he liked, preferably someone who also liked him.
The search for Tsuyoshi's crush begins, and Sana soon stumbles upon a girl in her class who admits to liking Tsuyoshi. Sana tries to set them up, but Tsuyoshi insists that he still only has eyes for Sana.
With the play opening night approaching, Sana's dilemma with Tsuyoshi comes to a head. She could not bear to lose his friendship, but she could not lead him on either. She finally musters the courage to have a heartfelt conversation with him, telling Tsuyoshi that they will never be more than friends. Tsuyoshi accepts the rejection gracefully and promises to never make her feel uncomfortable again, and he keeps his word, with their friendship returning to normal.
At the same time, the play rehearsals are going well, and they are about to start the final performance, with Sana giving it her all and addressing the love triangle between her character and the other characters. The play is well received by the audience, and Sana is elated that she was able to bring the story to life.
The episode ends with Sana and her friends backstage, discussing how everything turned out. However, Sana still appears conflicted about her feelings, realizing that she does not quite understand the complexities of love just yet and still has a lot to learn.
In typical Kodocha fashion, this episode touches on the sensitive subject of unrequited love, making it a relatable and emotional episode. It is a perfect episode for fans of the series who are interested in the romantic side of the story. Overall, Double Double Sana's Love Trouble is a well-executed episode that will leave viewers invested in Sana's journey.
