Mr Benn Season 1 Episode 6 Episode 6: The Zoo Keeper

Mr Benn is a classic British animated television series that aired in the early 1970s. Each episode follows the adventures of the titular character, a man who visits a fancy dress shop run by a mysterious and magical shopkeeper. In Episode 6: The Zoo Keeper, Mr Benn decides to try on a zookeeper costume. As soon as he puts it on, he finds himself in the middle of a bustling zoo, surrounded by all kinds of exotic animals. The zoo is full of excited children, and Mr Benn quickly realizes that he is there to help the zookeeper with his duties.

The zookeeper, a gruff but kind man, is clearly overwhelmed with the number of tasks that he has to complete. Mr Benn offers to help him out, and the two quickly become friends as they work together. They feed the animals, clean out their enclosures, and even help birth a baby elephant. The tasks are hard work, but Mr Benn is excited to be helping out in such an exciting place.

One of the animals at the zoo catches Mr Benn's eye in particular: a beautiful white tiger named Snowball. Mr Benn is entranced by her beauty, and he spends a lot of time watching her as she lounges in her enclosure. He soon learns that the zookeeper is worried about her health, and he resolves to help in any way he can.

As Mr Benn spends more time at the zoo, he begins to notice that something strange is going on. The animals seem restless and unhappy, and he hears rumors that they are not being treated well. He decides to investigate, and with Snowball's help, he uncovers a plot by the zoo's owner to sell the animals to a circus.

Mr Benn and the zookeeper hatch a plan to stop the owner, and with Snowball's help, they succeed. The animals are saved, and the zoo is allowed to continue operating as usual. Mr Benn is hailed as a hero, and he is invited to stay at the zoo for as long as he likes.

In the end, Mr Benn decides to return to the costume shop and take off the zookeeper costume. As he does, he thanks the shopkeeper for another wonderful adventure, and he promises to return again soon. The episode ends with Mr Benn walking down the street, still amazed by the magical world he has just visited.
