Nailed It! Mexico Season 2 Episode 4 Daft Craft

  • August 7, 2020

In Nailed It! Mexico season 2 episode 4, titled Daft Craft, three amateur bakers face off in a series of challenges that will test their skills and creativity in a fun and lighthearted way. As always, the goal is to recreate elaborate and colorful cakes, pastries, and desserts based on a specific theme.

The episode begins with host Omar Chaparro introducing the contestants: Alfonso, a father of two who loves baking with his kids; Dariana, a high school student who dreams of one day opening her own pastry shop; and Francisco, a self-taught baker and artist who has already made a name for himself on social media.

The first challenge is a cupcake decorating contest, where each baker must create three cupcakes that resemble famous Mexican wrestlers. The catch? They only have 20 minutes to do it, and they can only use the tools and ingredients provided to them. Alfonso struggles with piping the frosting and comes up with a hilarious design that falls apart halfway through. Dariana shows off her artistic skills and creates three colorful and intricate designs that impress the judges. Francisco takes a more minimalist approach and focuses on the flavors, but his cupcakes still look impressive.

For the second challenge, the bakers must tackle a classic Mexican dessert: churros. But instead of making plain churros, they have to incorporate a surprise ingredient that will be revealed to them mid-way through the challenge. Alfonso reacts with horror when he sees that the ingredient is bacon, but decides to go with it and create a sweet and savory twist on the dish. Dariana chooses to use mango, a fruit that she knows well, but struggles with the piping bag and ends up making uneven and clumpy churros. Francisco goes with a traditional cinnamon and sugar coating, but adds a twist by injecting caramel sauce into the churros.

Finally, the bakers face the toughest challenge of all: a Daft Punk cake. Each baker must create a multi-layered cake that resembles the iconic robot helmets of the French duo. They have three hours to complete the task, and must use fondant, buttercream, and edible glitter to achieve the desired effect. Alfonso struggles with the shaping and coloring of the helmets, and spends too much time on the cake base, leaving little time to decorate. Dariana gets creative and uses a blowtorch to give her helmets a metallic look, but she runs out of time and doesn't get to finish all the details. Francisco goes all out and creates a stunning cake that impresses the judges with its precision and attention to detail.

In the end, only one baker can be crowned the winner of the Daft Craft challenge, and the judges have a tough time deciding. Each baker shows off their strengths and weaknesses throughout the episode, and the judges take into account factors such as taste, presentation, and creativity. The contestants themselves show a great deal of sportsmanship and camaraderie, cheering each other on and learning from their mistakes along the way.

Overall, Nailed It! Mexico season 2 episode 4 is a fun and engaging episode that combines humor, creativity, and baking skills in a delightful way. The show continues to be a hit among audiences and has helped inspire a generation of amateur bakers to pursue their passions and have fun in the kitchen.
