After defeating an alien monster in the city, Ultraman returns to his home planet of Nebula M78. Meanwhile, a boy named Jiro wanders into a forest and discovers a strange egg, which hatches into a baby monster. Jiro decides to name the monster "Mokian" and takes it home with him. However, Jiro soon discovers that raising a wild monster is no easy task as Mokian destroys everything in its path.
One day, Jiro brings Mokian to the beach where he encounters a group of fishermen who are struggling to make a catch. Mokian uses its powers to help the fishermen catch a large haul of fish, and Jiro realizes that the monster could be useful. He decides to teach Mokian how to ride his bicycle, with the hopes of using Mokian's abilities to help his father's struggling fishing business.
As Jiro and Mokian ride through town, they catch the attention of the Monster Attacking Crew (MAC), a group of government agents who are tasked with protecting the city from monster attacks. The MAC assumes that Mokian is a threat, and they send out a squadron of fighter jets to destroy the monster.
Jiro and Mokian narrowly evade the jets and flee into the forest. The MAC continues to pursue them, but Ultraman suddenly appears and intervenes. It is revealed that Ultraman had sensed the presence of a monster and returned to Earth to investigate. Ultraman discovers that Mokian is not a malicious creature but rather a domesticated pet, and he decides to help Jiro and Mokian.
The MAC, however, refuses to believe that Mokian is harmless and orders their forces to attack once again. Ultraman fights alongside Jiro and Mokian, and together they defeat the MAC's assault and save the city.
After the battle, Ultraman returns to Nebula M78, and Jiro says goodbye to Mokian, who must return to its natural habitat in the forest. Jiro has learned a valuable lesson about the responsibilities that come with raising a wild monster, and he vows to continue to protect the creatures of the Earth.
