Joe Bob Briggs is back again for another episode of The Last Drive-in. This week's installment features the 1988 horror-comedy film Brain Damage. Directed by Frank Henenlotter, the film follows Brian, a young man who becomes addicted to a parasite named Aylmer. Aylmer injects Brian with a blue liquid that provides him with a euphoric high, but also requires him to feed Aylmer human brains in exchange.
As always, Joe Bob provides his signature commentary and trivia throughout the film, sharing his knowledge and opinions on all things horror. He discusses Henenlotter's unique style and use of practical effects, as well as the film's themes of addiction and the destruction it can cause.
But the night doesn't end with just one film. Joe Bob also presents a second feature for the night: the 1971 classic horror film Willard. Directed by Daniel Mann, the film stars Bruce Davison as the titular character, a young man who controls an army of rats to seek revenge on those who have wronged him.
Throughout the night, Joe Bob also shares his trademark drive-in totals, providing the audience with a tally of the film's body count, number of bare breasts shown, and other fun statistics.
