Pouty James is an episode of the popular children's show Thomas & Friends. Season 20 episode 11 was first released on December 10th, 2016 as part of the show's 19th, 20th, and 21st seasons and has since become a fan favorite.

The beginning of the episode sees James, one of the main characters and a proud red engine, in a bit of a bad mood. He's been assigned to collect coal and thinks it's not a job befitting his station as a passenger engine. He's also still bummed that he didn't get to pull the royal train that visited the railway earlier in the week, sighing dramatically about how "nobody cares about James."

To make matters worse, when he arrives at the coal mine, he's informed that there's a delay and he'll have to wait for the coal to be loaded. James complains to the workmen that he doesn't have time to wait around, but they reassure him that it won't be long.

While he's waiting, James sees Emily - another engine on the railway - pulling a group of excited passengers. They're all waving and cheering, and James feels left out. He starts to feel sorry for himself and moans that it's not fair.

When Thomas arrives at the mine to collect coal, he notices James's bad mood and tries to cheer him up. "What's wrong, James?" he asks.

"Nobody cares about James," James replies, still sulking.

"Of course we care about you, James," Thomas says, trying to be supportive.

But James just rolls his eyes and mopes some more. "You don't understand, Thomas. You didn't miss out on pulling the royal train."

Thomas is starting to get frustrated with James's attitude. "Well, you never know, James. Maybe something even better will come along."

James isn't convinced, though, and he continues to sulk as he waits for his coal to be loaded.

Finally, the workmen finish loading James up with coal, and he sets off grumpily down the line. As he's chuffing along, he sees a group of children standing by the tracks, waving excitedly. James starts to perk up a bit - there might not be any royalty around, but at least there are people who appreciate him.

But as he gets closer, he realizes that the children are actually waving at Emily, who is coming up behind him with her passengers. James feels embarrassed and annoyed, but when Emily passes him, she calls out a friendly greeting.

James realizes that he's been acting like a child and that he needs to get over himself. He decides to try and do better, and he starts looking for ways to be useful and helpful.

The rest of the episode sees James taking on various jobs and helping out his fellow engines. He even offers to help Emily with her passengers, much to her surprise. By the end of the day, James is feeling much better about himself and his place on the railway.

Pouty James is a great episode for kids - it teaches the importance of being humble and grateful, and how even the smallest acts of kindness can make a big difference. The episode is also packed with fun train action and colorful characters, making it a joy to watch from beginning to end.
