After the hilarious and thrilling first two episodes of What We Do in the Shadows season two, fans were anticipating a lot from the third episode to maintain the same momentum. And the show didn't disappoint. Titled "Brain Scramblies," the episode was another fantastic addition to the vampire mockumentary's impressive repertoire.

The episode begins with a hilarious and wacky cold open in which Nandor accidentally ate Guillermo's sandwich, causing him to unleash his anger on the group. However, the grudge doesn't last long as Nandor invites the rest of the vampires to attend his art show. The attendees include Colin Robinson, who has his own reasons for attending the event.

As it turns out, Nandor's artwork is quite disturbing, and it leads to the vampires experiencing "Brain Scramblies". The Brain Scramblies are a unique and amusing addition to the vampire universe, causing them to forget everything that happened in the recent past. This serves to create a lot of confusing and hilarious interactions throughout the episode.

One of the highlights of this episode is Guillermo's storyline. Despite being a human, Guillermo is a crucial part of the group and fans love him. In "Brain Scramblies," we get to see Guillermo's struggle to find his place in a world that doesn't accept humans. This struggle is shown to its full extent when he plans to go to a Buffy convention in secret, and Colin Robinson spontaneously offers to tag along. The two of them create a fantastic comic duo, and their time at the convention is a funny and accurate representation of the furore around the Buffy fandom. Even if you're not a fan of Buffy, the comedic timing in these segments is so good that it's hard not to chuckle.

The episode also shows us Laszlo and Nadja trying to hide their romantic past. This storyline has been developing since the first season, and it's refreshing to see the show taking some steps to explore a little more of their relationship. They have always had excellent chemistry, and their chemistry is still on display in this episode. Watching them try to downplay their past is both hilarious and endearing at the same time.

Meanwhile, Nandor is putting together his art show, which he is aiming to make a grand spectacle. He devotes his own blood and even locks the doors to make sure that no one interrupts his work of art. However, things go awry when he puts a harmful substance in the paint, making everyone experience Brain Scramblies. It's hilarious seeing the vampires going back and forth, struggling to understand what happened leading to their memory loss.

The episode's climax sees Guillermo and Colin making an appearance at the art exhibition, with Guillermo unsure whether to reveal his appreciation for Buffy the Vampire Slayer to his colleagues. This scene represents an excellent culmination of different storylines coming together and leading to a satisfying conclusion.

Overall, "Brain Scramblies" is another outstanding episode of What We Do in the Shadows. It manages to blend the series' trademark humor and absurdity with some genuinely sweet character moments. As with the previous episodes, it's well-acted, written, and directed. Fans who enjoyed the first two episodes won't be disappointed, and new viewers should be encouraged to check out this series. Comedy fans, vampire fans, and fans of the bizarre will find something to enjoy in this episode.
