Collectors, a stone-faced documentary by Julian P. Hobbs, looks into the minds of people who collect art created by serial killers. Players from all facets of the trade patiently explain their respective positions, from the artists to families of the victims to the eponymous Collectors themselves. Shots of both the artwork and the galleries housing them are thoroughly displayed, only to be spliced jarringly with stock footage covering the artists atrocities. The film is unflinching, moving from one event to the next with matter-of-fact aloofness and giving little time to recover.
