Disco and Atomic War is a documentary film that was released in 2009. During the late seventies and eighties, the Soviet Union was closed to all western culture. However, the oppressive government could not keep out all western culture, and the influence of western culture disturbed the legitimacy of the state. The film looks at such things as the television show MacGyver caused a school to lose a culture war with its students. It also follows the influence of western porn stars on the Red Army, and how disco caused a thriving underground club scene.
