Johnny Guitar Walker made a smash in 1987 when he appeared on Ohne Filter (Without Filter), an extremely popular German music television series. The world of funk, soul, and fusion had stood aside for heavy metal, pop, and R&B in the United States, but Walker found new fertile ground for his instrumental style in Europe.
