The Spirit of the Pony Express is a documentary film presented at the Sundance Film Festival. The film uses dramatic re-creations to tell the history of the Pony Express that ran from St. Joseph, Missouri to Sacramento, California. A large portion of the film consists of the film's creators traveling from town to town along the old Pony Express route and examining how the Pony Express played a role in making the towns what they are today.
