Watch Zona Zamfirova

This film blends both comedy and drama and is based on a book by the same name written by Serbian author Stevan Sremac. The action takes place during the 1800s in the city of Nis located in the southern section of Serbia. It tells the story of Zona Zamfirova, the daughter of one of the city's most wealthy residents. Zona is facing a romantic dilemma because she has fallen in love with a man named Mane. But there are definite obstacles to their being able to spend the rest of their lives together, because her wealthy family doesn't like the fact that Mane, who works as a goldsmith, comes from a much lower economic background than Zona's family does.

Complicating matters is the fact that another man, Manulac, who comes from a background of wealth, is interested in pursuing a relationship with her. Zona has a tough decision to make as her poorer suitor, Mane, works to ensure that they wind up together, despite her family's objections that he is a lowly craftsman.
