Are we entering a new era of live TV musicals? The results are in from last night's live broadcast of "The Sound of Music Live!" on NBC, and it's looking like the network's gamble has paid off. The TV musical brought in a reported 18.5 million total viewers, with a 4.6 rating in the coveted 18-49 demographic alone. That makes last night the highest-rated Thursday night, excluding sports, since the series finale of "ER" more than four years ago.

Kids will get a chance to binge view at least a few episodes of a new Netflix animated series on Christmas Eve, but adults will have to wait until Valentine's Day to watch an entire new season of "House of Cards" in one sitting.

Skeptics who thought that the film version of "50 Shades of Grey" might never actually begin production were proven wrong this week when cameras finally began rolling. Production on the problem-plagued project began in Vancouver, and it was only a month late.

"Fast & Furious 7" will go on after the death of Paul Walker, but the film's producers don't know exactly how they're going to be able to finish the movie. While they formulate a plan, shooting on the project has stopped.

Kim Kardashian is apparently starting North West off early on the art track. Earlier today, Kim posted a new Instagram pic of her baby alongside artist Jeff Koons, writing, "Art lessons!" with the photo. In the pic, the smiling Koons is joined by a disgruntled-looking North, whose expression seems to say, "Why should I have to be the only girl in the family to practice a talent?" Recently, Kim gave a Twitter follower a verbal takedown concerning her parenting habits.

Reports have confirmed that Gal Gadot, an Israeli model and actress, will be taking on the role of the Amazon princess in the sequel to "Man of Steel," Zack Snyder's reboot of the Superman franchise. Fans of the "Fast & Furious" franchise might recognize Gadot: She most recently played the role of Gisele in "Fast Five" and "Fast & Furious 6.
