Jani Lane: Autopsy Inconclusive, Vodka and Pills Found at Scene

The autopsy on hair metal legend and Warrant lead singer Jani Lane, who passed away in a hotel room in L.A. on Thursday, has revealed no conclusive cause of death, the L.A. County coroner's official said Friday.

Much like the Amy Winehouse case, friends and family will await the results of a toxicology report to get the definitive word on what happened, though in this case, the culprit appears pretty clear cut.

According to the Los Angeles Times, "a half-bottle of alcohol and prescription medications were found in the hotel room where he died, though police officials said there was no indication that the father of two girls had intentionally taken his own life."

Known for his flowing mane and high-octane screeching pipes, Jani Lane was was arguably one of the most popular and visible leaders of the hair metal movement, helming Warrant at the peak of their popularity with songs like "She's My Cherry Pie" and "Heaven."

Lane was 47 when he died.
