A 'Walking Dead' Talk Show? AMC Shoots Pilot with Chris Hardwick

If you're a fan of the reality programming on Bravo, then you might be familiar with "Watch What Happens: Live," the talk show that airs after Bravo's block of popular reality shows and recaps the action with live discussion. It's a model that we've seen elsewhere as well...MTV has been known to do "post-shows" that discuss big episodes and events.

But what if you had one of these discussing a scripted drama?

That's the question that AMC is asking. The network has now positioned itself as the destination for cable dramas, rivaling even HBO with its bullpen of critically-acclaimed dramas. "Breaking Bad," "Mad Men," "The Walking Dead" and "The Killing" are all certified hits with viewers and critics alike, and "Hell on Wheels" is sure to follow.

Thus, AMC is considering their own recap talk show to discuss their scripted lineup. The show would be similar to the likes of "Watch What Happens: Live," only instead of discussing reality fare, it would discuss shows like "The Walking Dead" or "Mad Men."

The show is currently only in development, though a pilot has reportedly been shot, according to THR. Chris Hardwick, a comedian and TV personality who hosts "Web Soup" and has recently hosted "Dr. Who" and "Ministry of Laughs" specials for BBC America, hosted the pilot for AMC's talk show. Hardwick, who frequently discusses AMC's shows and has had guests such as Bryan Cranston and Jon Hamm (of "Breaking Bad" and "Mad Men") on his Nerdist Podcast, seems a likely candidate to keep the job if the pilot is picked up.
