The movie centers on a Navy SEALs group that is led by an American Doctor named Frank Reno (Gross). He once worked at the Philadelphia Experiment. This film begins in 2008, where Reno has purportedly mastered time travel technology. These SEALs then use it to go to the year of 70,000,000 BC to the Cretaceous Period, to rescue an old 1949 expedition that was led by Frank's brother Erik (Atkins). Reno's team then arrives to Gondwana which is about six years after his 1949 team had arrived so that they can find a few survivors. This SEAL team then equips themselves for the possible dangers of this entire prehistoric period, so they then are decimated by the dinosaurs and scared of the poisonous plant life. Although they accomplished their mission, there are still remnants of two teams merging to one to return back to the actual present year. However, during the process their time machine accidentally malfunctions letting a fully-grown, 60-foot-wide and 20-foot-tall Carcharodontosaurus to go and travel to their present time. This will cause this dinosaur the chance to wreak havoc upon the downtown of Los Angeles. Reno then stays behind, mainly to close this horrific portal, but instead accidentally transports himself to 1950 right after he was mortally wounded by an actual dinosaur. Apparently at the time, he tried to leap to the portal when it closed, but went to 1950 as opposed to 2008. In 2008, survivors of his team run to the streets of L.A., barely able to stop the prehistoric beast. In 1950, the wounded Reno arrives to meet up with his younger version. The old Reno then teaches him (Harnish) how to properly use the time-traveling technology before he dies. Young Reno assembles a team of Korean troops and brings them through a portal to 2008, they then attempt to rescue their remainder of the original team from this rampaging dinosaur.
