In 800 Bullets, a young boy, Carlos, runs off to join his grandfather, Julián, who is a stuntman from Almeria who used to work on American Westerns that were filmed in Spain. When he finds his grandfather, he learns that the stuntmen now perform as cowboys in Western shows on old stage sets. When his mother Laura finds out that he's with Julián and becoming a part of that life, she decides to try to destroy her estranged father by trying to take away his career. This action leads the cowboys to a real life fight against Laura and authorities.
