A Good Lawyer's Wife is a thought-provoking drama film from South Korea that premiered in 2003. Directed by Im Sang-soo, the movie stars Moon So-ri, Kim In-mun, Yun Yeo-Jong, Bong Tae-gyu, Baek Jeong-rim Hwang Jung-min in pivotal roles. The film revolves around the life of a middle-aged couple, Choi Young-jak, and his wife, Lee Jeong-in. Choi Young-jak is a successful lawyer who is more committed to his work than his family. Lee Jeong-in, on the other hand, is a stay-at-home mom who spends most of her days taking care of their son and the household chores. In the opening scene of the movie, Lee Jeong-in is shown pleasuring herself as she fantasizes about the plumber who has come to repair their taps. This sets the tone for the rest of the movie, which features several explicit sex scenes.

The plot thickens when Lee Jeong-in's mother is diagnosed with cancer, and Young-jak is asked to represent her in a fraud case. Things get complicated when Young-jak starts an affair with a much younger girl, and Jeong-in discovers it. As the movie progresses, we get to see the characters dealing with their internal conflicts of lust, love, and family values.

Moon So-ri plays the character of Lee Jeong-in, delivering an exceptional performance. Her character is complex and multi-layered, and So-ri portrays it with utmost conviction. Kim In-mun shines as the selfish and egoistic lawyer, Choi Young-jak. His character development is gradual, and we get to see him transform from an unapologetic man who puts his career first to someone who reconsiders his priorities. Yun Yeo-Jong plays Lee Jeong-in's mother, giving an honest and subtle performance.

Bong Tae-gyu, who plays the plumber, delivers a restrained yet impactful performance as a man who seems to be in control of his life. Baek Jeong-rim plays the young girl who has an affair with Young-jak. Her character is critical to the plot, and Baek Jeong-rim manages to keep the audience engaged with her performance.

Hwang Jung-min plays the role of Jeong-in's brother-in-law, who is an alcoholic and constantly causing drama. He manages to provide bits of comic relief to a movie that deals with sensitive subjects.

The movie's cinematography is stunning, with beautiful visuals that capture the essence of the Korean suburbs. The score is minimalistic, which adds to the raw and gritty tone of the movie.

A Good Lawyer's Wife is an excellent movie that showcases the director's skill of delving into complex human relationships. The movie deals with themes of love, lust, infidelity, and family values in a realistic and poignant manner. It shows a side of Korea that is rarely witnessed on screen, dealing with subjects that are still considered taboo in Korean society. The sensitive portrayal of these subjects makes A Good Lawyer's Wife a must-watch for fans of Korean cinema.

A Good Lawyer's Wife is a 2003 drama with a runtime of 1 hour and 44 minutes. It has received moderate reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 6.1.
