A Spaghetti Western that follows the continuing adventures of the legendary gunslinger known as Sabata. In the middle of the nineteenth century Mexico is occupied by Austrian forces under the command of the Emperor Maximilian. A mixed group of revolutionaries and Mexican Republican forces are seeking to expel the invaders and restore the rightful president, Benito Juárez. In order to make this happen they must first obtain the funds to purchase the required weaponry. To this end they hire Sabata and task him with stealing a shipment of gold belonging to the Emperor himself.
