This documentary depicts the rise to power of Adolf Hitler in Germany, making extensive use of black and white footage from newsreels and film archives. Reportedly, it was released in the British Isles in July, 1940 (after World War II had already commenced in Europe) and in the USA in September of the same year. The United States had not yet entered the conflict. The film was written by Jacques Haik and directed by Norman Lee. It uses several propaganda techniques in addition to documentary narrative to reinforce some of the material presented about the German dictator's rise to power.
