In the year 1985, the movie Alien Outlaw was released, directed by Phil Smoot, starring Stephen Winegard, Kimberly Mauldin, and Stuart Watson. The film takes place in the small town of Agua Dulce, where cattle start disappearing under strange circumstances. A team of three alien bounty hunters is sent to Earth to capture the alien that is responsible for the theft.

The aliens blend in with the human population by taking on the form of humans. In the opening scene of the movie, one of the aliens played by Maeve McGuire, who goes by the name of Betty, is confronted by a group of humans. As they threaten her, a shot is fired, but the woman remains unharmed as she can regenerate. This hints towards her alien identity and sets the basis of the storyline.

The responsibility of capturing the alien falls on the shoulders of bounty hunters, a team of three people: Jesse Jamison played by Stephen Winegard, Cody played by Stuart Watson, and Annie played by Kimberly Mauldin. Their introduction takes place as Jesse lights up his cigar on Cody's car. Cody is immediately angered and challenges Jesse to a fight. But Jesse doesn't fight Cody back, and rather than that, he talks about his plan of capturing the alien. As their paths cross, they both realize that they share the same mission.

Meanwhile, the town's sheriff played by Jim Fitzpatrick is equally concerned about the missing cattle. He takes it upon himself to investigate the matter and figures out that the cattle's DNA has been mutated. He ultimately learns about the alien's arrival and takes the side of the bounty hunters in their mission of capturing the alien.

As night falls, the bounty hunters set out with their equipment to track down the alien. As they reach the alien’s location, they find that they’re underprepared for the fight against the alien. But this despite this, they continue their mission to capture the alien. The fight sequences that follow are full of action and keep audiences engaged.

As the plot progresses, the bounty hunters realize that the alien they were after is merely a pawn in a larger-scale plan set in motion by someone else. The alien was merely trying to steal the cattle to help extraterrestrial refugees.

Alien Outlaw tries to capture the essence of a futuristic western-style movie, complete with a lot of action, gunfire, and showdowns. The movie touches on relevant topics, such as the shortage of resources in the universe and the need for advanced civilizations to find sustenance. It tries to bring forward the idea that sometimes, we might think that we're fighting the bad guys, but in reality, the lines between good and bad are blurred.

Another exciting aspect of the movie is how it tries to subvert gender roles. For instance, the male lead of the movie's storyline, Jesse, intentionally doesn't fight back against male aggression, making him an atypical western-style hero in which direct action is usually celebrated. Instead, he focuses on understanding the situation and coming up with a plan to beat the enemy. On the other hand, Annie's character is depicted as someone who's efficient with a gun, and she's not afraid to get her hands dirty in a fight.

In conclusion, Alien Outlaw is a decently entertaining movie that captures the essence of the 80s western-style movies. Despite some loopholes in the plot, it delivers an interesting take on the human nature of morality by showing how we judge people based on their appearance, rather than their intentions. The characters are well thought out, and the action scenes keep the audience engaged. Although the movie may not be for everyone, it is undoubtedly worth watching for fans of such genres.

Alien Outlaw is a 1985 mystery with a runtime of 1 hour and 31 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 3.0.
