Alone is a suspenseful horror-thriller movie released in 2017 and starring Kimberly Michelle Vaughn. It tells the story of a young woman named Jessica, who has recently moved to a new city and is struggling to adjust to her new life. Soon after her move, Jessica begins to experience a series of terrifying events that lead her to believe that she is being stalked and possibly even targeted by a dangerous stranger.

At the beginning of Alone, we see Jessica trying to get settled into her new apartment and dealing with the stress of her new job. She is a smart and capable woman but is clearly struggling with the challenges of a new city and unfamiliar surroundings. Her only real solace comes from her online interactions with a man named Michael, who she has met through a dating app. Despite never actually meeting in person, she finds comfort in their conversations and the sense that she has someone to talk to.

However, things take a turn for the worse when Jessica starts to receive strange, threatening messages from an unknown source. At first, she brushes it off as a prank or misunderstanding, but soon the messages become more and more intense and personal. As she tries to figure out who is behind the messages, she begins to feel as though she is being watched and followed, and becomes increasingly paranoid and fearful.

One of the strengths of Alone is the way it manages to create tension and suspense through small moments and details. Director, author and producer Michael Coppola keeps the action tight on Kimberly Michelle Vaughn throughout, allowing the audience to experience her fear and anxiety firsthand. Every time Jessica hears a strange noise or sees something out of the corner of her eye, we feel her panic and are drawn deeper into her experience.

As the movie progresses, Jessica's situation becomes increasingly dire. She tries to get help from the police and her friends, but no one takes her seriously and she is left to deal with the situation on her own. In some ways, Alone is a commentary on the way that women's experiences of harassment and danger are often dismissed or minimized by those around them. It's a powerful message for a horror movie to convey, and gives the movie an added weight and resonance.

At its core, however, Alone is a movie about a woman in peril. Kimberly Michelle Vaughn gives a nuanced and powerful performance as Jessica, capturing both her vulnerability and her strength. We root for her throughout the movie, hoping that she will find a way to escape her stalker and reclaim her life.

One of the interesting things about Alone is the way it plays with audience expectations. In many horror movies, there is a clear protagonist and antagonist, and the audience knows who to root for and who to fear. In this movie, however, things are more ambiguous. We don't know who is behind the threats to Jessica, or what their motivations might be. This creates a sense of unease and uncertainty that keeps us on the edge of our seats.

Alone is not without its flaws. At times, the pacing can be a bit slow, and some of the plot twists feel a bit contrived or convenient. Additionally, the ending may not satisfy all viewers, as it leaves some questions unanswered and may feel a bit anticlimactic. Nevertheless, the movie is a strong addition to the horror-thriller genre and offers a fresh take on a familiar formula.

Overall, Alone is a tense and gripping movie that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Its focus on a strong female protagonist and the dangers of dismissive attitudes towards women's concerns gives it added depth and relevance. If you're a fan of suspenseful movies that keep you guessing, Alone is definitely worth checking out.
