Andover is a romantic comedy-drama film that tells the story of a genetics professor named Adam, who has developed a groundbreaking method to create the perfect human. However, his life takes a different turn when he faces a personal tragedy and decides to clone his beloved wife, Dawn. As the story unfolds, we see that Adam is a gifted scientist who has been working on his genetic process for years. He has had little success until one day, he discovers the secret to creating a perfect human. He names his discovery the "Adam Protocol" after himself.

However, Adam's euphoria is short-lived when he loses his wife, Dawn, in a tragic accident. Devastated by her death, Adam decides to use his cloning technique to bring her back to life. He begins the process by creating dozens of clones and testing his genetic process until he finally creates a successful clone of Dawn.

With the help of his friend and colleague, Philip, Adam tries to keep the clone a secret from the outside world. However, things become complicated when his clone, also named Dawn, starts to develop her own personality and experiences emotions similar to those of the original Dawn. Adam is forced to confront the fact that his clone is not simply a replica of his late wife, but a unique individual.

As Adam begins to fall in love with the clone, he faces a moral dilemma about whether he should reveal the truth about her origins. Meanwhile, Dawn's existence causes confusion and tension in the lives of Adam's friends and colleagues, including Philip and his wife, and a local police officer who is investigating the strange events happening in Adam's laboratory.

The film poses questions about morality, ethics, and the nature of identity. It explores how far science can push the boundaries of human nature and raises concerns about the consequences of playing with life's intricacies. Andover takes the viewer on an emotional rollercoaster from laughter to tears as it delicately balances science fiction, romance, and comedy.

The performances from the cast are well executed, with Jonathan Silverman delivering a memorable performance as Adam. He portrays the character with a mix of intelligence, humor, and vulnerability as he navigates the challenges of losing his wife, bringing her back to life, and falling in love with her clone. Jennifer Finnigan is equally impressive in her dual role as both Dawn and her clone, giving each character a unique personality and persona. Richard Kind provides comic relief as Philip, Adam's hilarious best friend and colleague.

The production quality is commendable, too, with visually stunning cinematography and a captivating soundtrack complete with powerful and emotional melodies.

Andover is an entertaining and thought-provoking film that manages to balance science fiction, romance, and comedy without losing its grip on the complexities of its themes. It's a classic Hollywood science fiction romance story with a riveting twist that leaves the audience asking tough questions about the ethics of cloning and the boundaries of human life.

Andover is a 2018 science fiction movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 35 minutes. It has received moderate reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.3.
