Watch Beat

Set in Okinawa during the 1960s, Beat follows the story of a young bartender as he tries to cope with the growing frustration of the US occupation of his home as well as his lackluster life that he is living. One night while trying to work along side his ex-girlfriend during a military black out, he decides to go out side and sets off a flare bomb. While the chaos ensues from his actions he ends up befriending a boy that he meets outside of work. This boy turns into a de facto guide as the lowly bartender goes through changes that shake his very core.
