As a member of the deaf community, Kylie's secluded and protective environment is not very welcoming to Jeff at first. Yet though they come from separate worlds, their differences and personal histories only draw them closer together. Despite their respective problems and past scars that have yet to heal, they come to set aside preconceived notions and fully integrate into each other's lives. Together they learn that their feelings for one another transcend any social boundaries. Through love, loss and overcoming differences, they see just how beautiful the sound of love is.
