Bhootnath Returns is a Hindi-language comedy-drama film directed by Nitesh Tiwari and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar and Renu Ravi Chopra. It is the sequel to the 2008 film Bhootnath and stars Amitabh Bachchan in the lead role. The movie was released in India on April 11, 2014. The film begins with the ghost of a boy, Akhrot, who befriends Bhootnath (Amitabh Bachchan). Akhrot is a street-smart orphan and a fruit-seller who aspires to become a rapper. Bhootnath, on the other hand, is still living in the land of ghosts seven years after the events of the first film. Bhootnath is a friendly ghost who likes to play pranks on the living, but he is not content with his afterlife and wants to return to the mortal world to enjoy life like everybody else.

Bhootnath decides to contest the local elections against the corrupt MLA, Bhau (Boman Irani) in a bid to help his friend Akhrot and also to prove his worth as a ghost. He is supported by the local people who are unhappy with Bhau's misdeeds. However, Bhau, who has been winning the elections by rigging them, sees Bhootnath's presence as a problem and decides to eliminate him.

The rest of the film revolves around Bhootnath's campaign, his struggles with Bhau, and his relationship with Akhrot. During his campaign, Bhootnath comes across a lot of people who are facing various issues due to the neglect of their elected representatives. Bhootnath makes a promise to solve their problems and bring about a positive change if he is elected. As Bhootnath gains popularity, Bhau becomes more desperate and resorts to more extreme measures to eliminate him.

The film has a lot of heart, and its message is clear - that change is possible and that everyone has a right to it. The film also highlights the importance of voting and how every vote counts. The performances are top-notch, especially Amitabh Bachchan's, who manages to evoke both humor and pathos with ease. Child actor Parth Bhalerao, who plays Akhrot, is a natural talent and holds his own against the veteran actors in the film.

The film's soundtrack is also worth mentioning, with songs like "Party To Banti Hai" and "Har Har Gange" becoming popular with audiences. The film's cinematography is vibrant, and the use of CGI to bring the ghosts to life is impressive.

Bhootnath Returns is a wholesome family entertainer that has something for everyone. It has a social message without being preachy, and it manages to be both funny and heartwarming at the same time. The film is a must-watch for fans of Amitabh Bachchan and for those who want to see a feel-good film that leaves a positive impact.
