Bigfoot Country is a 2017 independent film that follows two filmmakers on their quest to expose the truth about Bigfoot. The film follows the journey of zany Bigfoot enthusiasts Doug Bletcher (Darren Andrichuk) and his camera operator Ed (Hans Potter) as they venture deep into the forests of Canada in search of the elusive creature.

Doug, who has had a lifelong obsession with Bigfoot, has been convinced for years that the creature really exists. He has even written a book about his theories, which he self-published with little success. However, after a video of a strange creature roaming the woods went viral on social media, Doug sees his chance to finally prove his theories are true.

Together with his friend Ed, Doug sets out to document the existence of Bigfoot. They make their way to an isolated cabin in the woods, where they meet a local woman named Serena (Kiana Passmore) who claims that she has seen Bigfoot. Although Doug is skeptical at first, he is drawn to Serena's story and decides to follow her into the forest to investigate.

As they delve deeper into the wilderness, Doug and Ed begin to notice strange occurrences happening around them. They find odd footprints, hear eerie howls, and come across mysterious campsites. However, they remain undeterred and continue their search for the creature.

Along the way, they meet other Bigfoot enthusiasts, including a group of hunters who believe that Bigfoot is a menace and must be eliminated. As Doug and Ed try to document the existence of Bigfoot, they find themselves caught in the middle of a battle between those who want to protect the creature and those who want to destroy it.

The film is a mix of found footage and traditional storytelling, with much of the action being captured on camera by Doug and Ed. Director Jason Mills does an excellent job of creating a tense and eerie atmosphere throughout the film, with the dense forest setting providing the perfect backdrop for the story.

The performances of the three main actors are also noteworthy. Darren Andrichuk delivers a convincing performance as Doug, the enthusiastic but slightly unhinged Bigfoot believer. Kiana Passmore is excellent as Serena and brings a quiet intensity to her role. Hans Potter provides comic relief as the loyal and long-suffering Ed.

The film also explores themes of belief, obsession, and the danger of unchecked curiosity. Doug's obsession with Bigfoot has driven him to the brink of madness, and his unwavering belief in the creature puts himself and others at risk. At the same time, the film raises questions about the value of pursuing the unknown and whether it is worth the potential danger.

In summary, Bigfoot Country is a well-crafted and suspenseful film that delivers both scares and laughs. The film is a must-see for fans of found footage horror and those interested in the legend of Bigfoot.

Bigfoot Country is a 2017 horror movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 18 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 2.9.
