In a remote Maasai village in rural Tanzania, a bright young school girl is suddenly confronted by an arranged marriage. As part of the first generation to go to school in her community, Naserian faces a dilemma between culture and education. Written and produced by students of Orkeeswa School, Tanzania, BLACK HEAD COW explores the pressures of traditional expectations. BLACK HEAD COW was written and produced by students of Orkeeswa School in Tanzania. The film developed out of a two-week long filmmaking workshop. As part of the first generation to go to school in their community, these students used the filmmaking process to explore their own dilemma between culture and education.
