Old Man Bascom Lunsford is a man who has dreamed of putting together a music spectacle that people all over the South would be able to enjoy. He is one of the pioneers of the Bluegrass sound and as such he made a large festival dedicated to that style of music. Entitled the Asheville Mountain Music Festival, the act was responsible for bringing together some of the biggest names of the time, as well as some names that were yet to be discovered prior to the festival. 1964 proved to be a pivotal year for Bluegrass and this documentary tells of the festival that helped the situation.
