The Borstal Boy is a film from 2000 that is adapted from an Brendan Behan's autobiography, published in the year 1958. The film takes place during the year 1941, with teenaged IRA volunteer Brendan going on a bombing raid from Ireland to Liverpool. His anarchy is swiftly defeated after he is captured and sent to Borstal, a reformation place for youths located in the country of England. In the school, Brendan must endure living in close proximity with "the enemy," and is eventually forced to examine his views, beliefs, and especially why he hates Protestants as much as he does.
