Alison, a bride-to-be, is preparing to walk down the aisle but before the ceremony can even begin she breaks up with her fiancé, Phil. Realizing that this is sudden, she suggests that they go along with the wedding even though they are no longer being a couple; Phil agrees. Though both of them know that the wedding is now a sham, they still can’t help but be appalled at the series of mishaps that take place during and around the ceremony. Both do their best to make it through the event and Phil hopes that as the day progresses, Alison will change her mind about the status of their relationship.
