Bring It On Again is a direct to video sequel to the 2000 film Bring It On. Though the films don't share any similar characters, both focus on the world of cheerleading. Bring It On Again follows a group of competitive cheerleaders at the fictional school California State College. Incoming freshman, Whittier (played by Anne Judson-Yager) and Monica (played by Faune Chambers), are high school cheerleaders and friends who are hoping to transfer their success in high school to their new college. They find that it is not so easy to make the transition though. Even though Whittier and Monica are both fabulous cheerleaders with many skills, they face strong disapproval from the already established cheerleading squad at California State College. One of the main sources of disapproval for the girls is head cheerleader Tina (played by Bree Turner) who views the cheerleading squad as her own personal domain. At first, Tina takes Whittier under her wing, seeing her as the next head cheerleader, but things quickly change. Tina turns against Whittier due to some mean girl moves by her friend, the more established cheerleader Marni (played by Bethany Joy Lenz). In addition, Tina's own bossy ways, including telling Whittier she can't date cute DJ Derek (played by Richard Lee Jackson), and that Whittier has to choose Monica or the squad, help to cause the girls friendship to sour. Whittier and Monica end up leaving the established cheerleading squad and forming their own squad of fellow misfits. Despite low expectations, Whittier and her squad excel. Only one squad from each school can go to the Nationals though, so the two squads have to compete to see who earns the coveted spot. In the end, Whittier and her squad win and end up offering a spot on the squad to Tina who reluctantly joins them in their quest to become National Champions.
