Buchanan Rides Alone is a classic western movie from 1958 that takes on the theme of justice and revenge in the Old West. The film stars Randolph Scott as a drifter, named Tom Buchanan, who comes to a gleaming Texas border town in search of adventure, but instead finds himself embroiled in a complicated dispute. The story begins with Buchanan riding into the dusty town of Agry, which is ruled by a wealthy, corrupt family known as the Brockins. The patriarch of the Brockins is the ruthless Abe Brockin (Barry Kelley), and he has two sons – Amos (Peter Whitney) and John (Craig Stevens). These brothers are as vicious as their father, and they have control over the town through their ownership of the local saloon and gun shop.

Buchanan sees a Mexican gambler, Juan de la Vega (Manuel Rojas), being unfairly accused of cheating at cards and subsequently shot by Amos Brockin. Helping the gambler out, Buchanan takes him to the nearby ranch of the wealthy and powerful Cowan family. He finds them fighting amongst themselves over a will, sparking personal feuds between several of their members.

Buchanan, an honest but nonchalant man, is quick to see the injustice of the Brockins and Cowans' actions. He tries his best to stay out of their way but is constantly caught in the crossfire of their battles. Eventually, he is brought into their war when the will of the Cowan family is stolen and Buchanan is unable to prove his innocence. Suspicious cowhands capture Buchanan and accuse him of theft.

In the meantime, the Brockins, who are also interested in the will, try to buy it from the thief. The thief at first agrees to the deal but later gets second thoughts and decides to hide the will in Buchanan's cell. At the same time, Amos is after Juan. Brockin sets up a trap to catch him, hoping to frame him for murder, and puts Ranchero in charge of finishing Buchanan while Amos Brockin is out taking care of Juan.

Buchanan manages to escape the jail with Juan, and together they plot to regain control of the will and clear their names. In a final duel, Buchanan manages to outsmart all the parties involved in the will's theft and bring about full justice.

Overall, Buchanan Rides Alone is a solid western with a complicated plot that is sure to keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
