The 1999 American thriller Chill Factor centers around two unlikely civilian heroes set to protect a highly dangerous chemical weapon from the hands of determined terrorists. Dr. Richard Long created a top-secret chemical weapon in a military base located on a remote island in the Pacific Ocean. However, after his experiment went horribly wrong and killed 18 of his workers, including his personal assistant and friend, Long finds himself in Montana fly-fishing with his new friend Tim and occasionally conducting experiments at a local base. Long visits an old military co-worker and friend, Brynner, who took the blame for Long's failed experiment and served ten years in prison. Brynner, wanting revenge on the government that covered up the ten year old accident and chemical that caused it, has created a team of terrorists who plan to steal the deadly chemical. It is up to Long and his friend Tim to reaching the chemical weapon without letting it reach a temperature higher than 50 degrees Fahrenheit, or it will explode and recreate the horrible accident it had 10 years prior.
