Dark Feed is a horror movie from 2013 which revolves around a group of struggling, young filmmakers who decide to take on a highly ambitious project – they buy an old, abandoned institution and convert it into a post-production studio. The story starts with a group of six friends, including actresses Elise and Gia, sound engineer Matt, camera operator Rachael, director Alex, and his girlfriend Natalie, who is also the scriptwriter for their upcoming horror movie. The group buys a run-down mental asylum in the outskirts of Boston, with the idea of converting the place into their post-production studio for the film. As they start working on their project, strange things begin to happen, and the team soon notices an eerie presence in the building.

One of the old caretakers, Roy, informs them about a series of paranormal incidents that took place in the asylum, which spiraled into chaos and death, leading to its eventual shutdown. The team is made aware of the past horrors of the building, but none of them takes it too seriously, and they continue to work on their project.

As the days pass, the team faces numerous challenges, such as unexplainable technical issues, strange noises in the night, and even getting stuck in the elevator. To make matters worse, they start to experience hallucinations, and eerie visions of what seems like an otherworldly presence. The filmmakers start to doubt their sanity and each other's motives, and it becomes apparent that they have stumbled upon something sinister, which has attached itself to the asylum over the years.

In their quest to uncover the truth, the team discovers a hidden basement, where they come across cages, chains, and various other instruments of torture. They realize that the mental institution wasn't just abandoned because of financial issues, but because of something much more sinister that had transpired within its walls.

As the team delves deeper into the mysteries of the asylum, they are taken on a journey of terror, discovering the malevolent presence that has tormented the building for years. They soon come to realize that their presence has triggered the entity to resurface, and it has no intention of letting them leave alive.

The acting of the cast is decent, especially given the low budget of the movie. Bree Elrod, who plays Elise, does a fantastic job of portraying her character's development from a skeptic to a believer. Evalena Marie, who plays Gia, is convincing in her role, and Dayna Cousins, who plays the sound engineer, Matt, is solid in his performance.

The cinematography is magnificent, and the use of lighting and shadows to create an eerie atmosphere works well. The sound design is excellent, and the score complements each scene perfectly, adding to the overall feeling of dread and foreboding.

Dark Feed delivers on its promise of scares and horror, with a well-crafted plot and sufficient jump scares to keep the audience on edge. The movie takes its time to establish the environment and characters before plunging them into the horror that awaits them.

Overall, Dark Feed is a solid horror movie that fans of the genre would enjoy. It is not for the faint of heart, and the scares are never overdone. While it does contain several clichés typical of horror movies, the movie manages to overcome them by creating an unsettling atmosphere that will make you feel anything but comfortable.

Dark Feed is a 2013 horror movie with a runtime of 1 hour and 26 minutes. It has received mostly poor reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 3.3.
