Deceptions is a 1990 erotic thriller about a homicide detective who gets involved with a sexy suspect accused of murdering her husband. The movie was written by Ken Denbrow and directed by Rueben Preuss. Adrienne Erickson (Nicholette Sheridan) is a young, rich woman, who is married to businessman Douglas Erickson (Marshall Colt). One night while home alone, a masked man appears at Adrienne's patio door. As Adrienne flees, the man breaks in and pursues her. After a brief standoff, Adrienne fires several shots killing the masked man. Detective Nick Gentry (Harry Hamlin), his partner Jack Kessler (Robert Davi) and several members of the L.A.P.D. arrive at the home. The dead man's mask is removed, and to everyone's shock, the would be killer is non other than Douglas Erickson. Nick is convinced of Adrienne's innocence while Jack believes she killed Douglas in cold blood. As Nick investigates the crime, Adrienne has no trouble flaunting her beauty and sexuality. Against Nick's better judgement, he gives in to Adrienne's feminine wiles and embarks on a torrid affair with her. Nick is blinded by Adrienne's charms and claims of innocence. Jack warns Nick to stay away from Adrienne, who he believes is not the person she claims to be. Jack does some checking of his own into Adrienne's background and discovers some disturbing information about her. Jack's warnings about Adrienne falls on deaf ears as their romance deepens. After a few red flags, Nick begins to come to his senses. He does some digging on his own and finds that both Adrienne and her late husband are hiding secrets. Other information that Nick unearths puts the lives of he, Adrienne, and Jack in grave danger. In a final showdown, Nick must face several seedy characters in order to save both Jack and Adrienne.
