"Down Three Dark Streets" is an American crime film from 1954. Agent John Ripley has been tasked with following up on several investigations that his slain partner had been looking into, theorizing that the various cases may have a common thread. While one case involves a man who slew the attendant of a fueling station, another regards extortion with a woman's life hanging in the balance. FBI director J. Edgar Hoover objected to several of the initial drafts of the film's script.
