Duck Duck Goose is a 2018 computer-animated family comedy film that follows Peng, a young goose who is a bit of a wanderlust and has a disdain for flying in formation. When Peng crashes into a flock of ducks, he finds himself separated from his flock, and he's stuck with two lost ducklings, Chi and Chao. As Peng tries to find his way back to his journey, he finds himself on a goose chase to reunite the ducklings with their flock.

Voiced by Jim Gaffigan, Peng is a self-centered lone goose that is too cool to fly in formation. Despite his flying skills, Peng enjoys taking risks and often shows off flips and spins while flying. During one of his solo adventures, Peng collides with a flock of ducks led by Gizmo, voiced by Lance Lim. Gizmo is a smart and charismatic duckling who doesn't have the best relationship with his two other siblings. Peng tries to befriend the ducks but is initially met with distrust and suspicion, especially from Chi, voiced by Zendaya.

Chi is a spirited and confident duckling who has a take-charge attitude, and she doesn't like taking orders from anyone. Peng becomes responsible for the two ducklings after losing them on his journey. But he initially struggles to connect with them and finds them to be more of a hindrance to his journey than a helping hand. However, as they journey through the Chinese countryside, they bond over a series of misadventures and mishaps that gradually transform Peng.

The film's plot is relatively straightforward, with Peng and the ducklings going on a wild goose chase across China to reunite them with their lost flock. The story draws inspiration from classic films like Three Men and a Baby and The Three Stooges, where the protagonists find themselves in comedic misadventures. In this case, it's a mismatched trio who slowly realize that they bring out the best in each other.

The animation in Duck Duck Goose is impressive, with the characters rendered in 3D animation. The backgrounds are beautifully rendered as well, with the various locations in China that the characters visit realistically portrayed. The details, such as the feathers on the birds, are also well done.

One of the high points of the film is the voice acting by the main cast. Gaffigan does a great job of voicing Peng, bringing his wit and sarcasm to the character. Zendaya's performance as Chi is also noteworthy, imbuing the character with both humor and sensitivity. Lance Lim's Gizmo is also a standout performance as he adds depth and sweetness to the character.

Apart from the voice acting, the film's humor is also a major highlight. The film doesn't take itself too seriously, and there are plenty of moments of slapstick comedy that will appeal to both children and adults. The humor is also layered, with jokes that can be understood on different levels, making it a film that can be enjoyed by people of all ages.

Overall, Duck Duck Goose is an entertaining family film that hits all the right notes. While the plot may be familiar, the film's humor, animation, and voice acting make it a must-watch film for both children and adults. If you're looking for a fun and light-hearted film about the adventures of a goose and his duckling friends, then Duck Duck Goose is definitely worth checking out.
