Exterminators of the Year 3000 is a post-apocalyptic movie from 1983 that had a limited release in theaters but gained cult status on VHS. Directed by Giuliano Carnimeo, the movie is set in a dusty and mutant-filled wasteland, which was created after a global ecological disaster turned Earth into a desert. The movie follows a young boy named Tommy, who embarks on a perilous journey with a seasoned warrior named Alien and a hot-headed young woman named Trash, to retrieve a huge water tanker, which could save their community.

The story begins with a small village located near a desert, fighting for survival against other biker gangs and fighting for their basic needs like water, and food which could ultimately save their lives. The isolated village is controlled by a brutal tyrant named Crazy Bull, who has a group of enforcers to protect him from the other gangs. When Crazy Bull learns that a huge tanker carrying water is located in a dangerous zone, he sends his enforcers to retrieve it, hoping to control its distribution and enslave other communities.

Tommy's father was one of the drivers of the tanker before he disappeared. Tommy decides to go on a mission to bring back the tanker and, along with Trash and Alien, they journey through the rough and falling-apart terrain, encountering mutated creatures and unstable roads. With no other choice, they must fight past various biker gangs, deadly mutants, and other perils that stand in their way.

The trio's journey is filled with several action-packed scenes as they encounter various groups who try to snag the tanker as well. These groups are the gangs who possess advanced weapons and devices to get their hands on the precious water that would help them in cracking down other communities. However, Tommy, Alien, and Trash are determined to keep the tanker safe and deliver it to their people.

The movie features an eclectic cast, highlighted by some incredible stunts and car chases, particularly a scene with a motorcycle that turns into a boat. Elisa Briganti plays the role of Trash, a weapon-savvy young woman who has her own agenda. Her fearless attitude boosts the team's bravado during the journey. Dardano Sacchetti plays the role of Alien, the hardened fighter who has seen it all and is willing to go to any lengths to help Tommy on their mission to retrieve the tanker. The young boy Tommy is portrayed by Luca Venantini, who develops a signature fighting style, learned from Alien to overcome the escape routes and overcome the obstacle to his final destination.

Exterminators of the Year 3000 is best known for its lo-fi approach to filmmaking, its innovative use of low-budget special effects, post-apocalyptic motifs, and run-down landscapes. The movie is well-known for its excellent soundtrack by Claudio Simonetti, which augments the gritty and raw visuals to create a unique blend of action and suspense.

The final scenes of the movie depict a violent face-off between the biker gangs and our heroes, in which Alien plays a vital role. The movie's message is clear: a dystopian future awaits for humankind unless they start treating the planet with care and respect.

Overall, Exterminators of the Year 3000 is an entertaining post-apocalyptic movie that never takes itself too seriously. It is an action-packed and fast-paced adventure with eccentric characters and over-the-top visuals to keep the audience engaged throughout its runtime. If you're a fan of the Mad Max franchise or like anything post-apocalyptic with a little humor, then Exterminators of the Year 3000 is definitely worth checking out.
