The dipteran's life cycle is illustrated from larva and pupa to adult. The definition of Dipterans is extended to include several species that are parasites or disease carriers. Species covered include the flesh fly, blowfly, bluebottle, Bombylius, crane fly, mosquito, the tsetse fly, screwworm fly, and Drosophila. There are 150,000 species dispersed amongst all environments.
