Jennifer is a struggling actress in Hollywood looking for her big break. She decides to take matters into her own hands by creating a vlog called "Jennifer's Journal" to document her journey to stardom. However, when her ex-boyfriend, who happens to be a famous director, casts her in his latest film, she thinks her dreams have finally come true.

But things take a dark turn when Jennifer realizes the director has ulterior motives and is using her for his own personal gain. After a heated argument on set, Jennifer decides to quit the movie and focus on her vlog. However, her ex-boyfriend does not take kindly to rejection and begins to cyberstalk and harass her online.

As the harassment escalates, Jennifer turns to her best friend, a techy named Needy who helps her set up a live video feed in her apartment as a way to keep herself safe. But when Needy's cameras start capturing more than just her ex-boyfriend's threats, Jennifer realizes she may have unknowingly invited a much bigger danger into her life.

With the help of Needy and her new love interest, a security guard named Sam, Jennifer races against time to uncover the truth behind the mysterious figure terrorizing her and her friends before it's too late.

#FromJennifer is a horror-comedy that combines the dark side of social media with the classic slasher genre. It stars Danielle Taddei as the titular Jennifer, who delivers a standout performance as a strong-willed but vulnerable protagonist. Derek Mears, who horror fans will recognize from Friday the 13th and The Hills Have Eyes, plays the terrifying figure stalking Jennifer with intensity and gusto. Meghan Deanna Smith shines as Jennifer's spunky best friend Needy, providing some much-needed levity in an otherwise tense and suspenseful film.

The movie smartly plays with the idea of self-promotion and self-preservation in the age of social media, making for a timely and relevant commentary on the dangers of putting too much of ourselves online. The film's use of live video feeds and surveillance cameras creates an eerie and voyeuristic atmosphere, adding an extra layer of tension and discomfort to the already unsettling premise.

Director Frank Merle balances the horror and humor elements of the film expertly, not shying away from the gore and violence but also allowing the actors to have fun with the more comedic moments. The script, written by James Cullen Bressack and Taddei, is sharp and self-aware, never taking itself too seriously but also never making light of the very real danger Jennifer and her friends are in.

Overall, #FromJennifer is a fun and thrilling ride that will appeal to horror fans as well as anyone who has ever been sucked into the dark side of social media. With strong performances, smart writing, and a sharp directorial eye, it's a film that deserves to be seen by a wider audience.

#FromJennifer is a 2017 thriller with a runtime of 1 hour and 21 minutes. It has received moderate reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 5.1.
