Globe Trekker's Africa - Zimbabwe, Botswana & Namibia is a travel documentary that takes its viewers on a scenic tour through Southern Africa, exploring the natural beauty of the region as well as its rich culture and wildlife. The documentary is hosted by one of the showâs presenters, Ian Wright, who takes his viewers on an epic adventure of discovery.
The journey starts in Zimbabwe, where Wright explores the majestic Victoria Falls in all its glory. The falls, one of the largest in the world, are a wonder to behold and Wright certainly does them justice, taking the time to appreciate their sheer size and power. He also takes a ride on a microlight and flies over the falls, giving viewers a birdâs eye view of the area.
After leaving the falls, Wright heads to Hwange National Park to experience the amazing wildlife, tracking elephants and getting up close and personal with a pride of lions. He also spends time with a local tribe, the Ndebele, who show him their traditional dance and dress, adding an element of cultural immersion to the tour.
Wright then moves on to Botswana, where he journeys across the Kalahari Desert, which covers much of the southern part of the country. The desert, despite being one of the harshest environments in Africa, is teeming with life and Wright has the chance to witness some of its unique inhabitants, including meerkats, bats, and black-maned lions.
In the Okavango Delta, Wright takes a trip on an old-fashioned canoe, or mokoro, down the water channels, appreciating the beauty of the delta and encountering hippos and crocodiles along the way. Wright also spends time with the local San Bushmen, learning how they live and hunt in some of the harshest environments on earth.
The final leg of Wrightâs journey takes him to Namibia, where he gets the chance to explore the remarkable Namib Desert, the oldest desert in the world. He climbs the towering sand dunes and then takes a hot air balloon trip over the desert to appreciate its vastness and beauty.
Wright also visits Etosha National Park in Namibia, home to some of the most outstanding African wildlife including black rhinos, leopards, and giraffes. He also visits a Himba tribe, who introduce him to their unique and incredible way of life.
Overall, Globe Trekkerâs Africa - Zimbabwe, Botswana & Namibia is a visually stunning and culturally immersive travel documentary that takes viewers on a journey through three African countries, showcasing their natural beauty and rich cultures. Wright is an engaging presenter who expertly conveys his experiences, and the documentary is expertly filmed and edited to capture the essence of these incredible destinations. It's a perfect choice for viewers looking to explore Southern Africa from the comfort of their own home.
