Green Is Gold is a 2016 American independent drama film that revolves around the lives of two brothers in their early 20s, who resort to selling marijuana in order to make ends meet after their father is sent to prison. The film has been directed by Ryon Baxter, who also stars in it, while the screenplay has been written by both Ryon and his brother Jimmy Baxter.

The protagonist of the movie is a 13-year-old boy named Angus (Derek W. Adam), who lives with his father, Alex (Ryon Baxter), and his younger brother, Isaac (Jimmy Baxter), in a rundown apartment in a suburban area of Los Angeles. Angus is a bright, mature, and responsible kid, who has been taking care of his younger brother while their father is away. He is also the only one in his family who seems to care about studying and getting a good education, despite the fact that their financial situation makes it difficult to do so.

One day, Alex is arrested and sent to prison for marijuana possession, leaving Angus and Isaac alone and penniless. In an attempt to make some money and make ends meet, Angus turns to a family friend named Uncle John (David Fine), who happens to be a marijuana dealer. Uncle John agrees to employ Angus as a lookout for his operation, while Isaac begins to make small drug deliveries on his bike.

As Angus becomes more involved in Uncle John's operation, he learns about the ins and outs of the marijuana business, and begins to see the lucrative potential it holds. However, as he faces ethical dilemmas and moral challenges, he is forced to question whether or not his involvement in the drug trade is worth sacrificing his principles and risking his future.

The relationship between Angus and Isaac is the heart of the movie, and their interactions are both tender and realistic. Isaac looks up to his older brother, and it is clear that Angus is doing everything in his power to try and give him a safe and stable life. However, as the two brothers get deeper into the drug trade, it becomes evident that their relationship is starting to fracture, and that Angus's decisions are putting Isaac in danger.

The film is beautifully shot and expertly directed, with Ryon Baxter capturing the grit and desperation of life on the fringes of society. He portrays the city of Los Angeles as both brutal and beautiful, highlighting the fact that there is both glamour and danger in the drug trade.

Overall, Green Is Gold is a poignant and powerful film that explores the struggles faced by young people who are forced to grow up too fast, and who must make difficult decisions in order to survive. The Baxter brothers and Derek W. Adam all give standout performances, and the film's message will resonate with viewers long after the credits roll. Green Is Gold is a must-see for anyone who enjoys a powerful drama filled with heart and soul.

Green Is Gold is a 2016 drama with a runtime of 1 hour and 21 minutes. It has received moderate reviews from critics and viewers, who have given it an IMDb score of 6.0.
