Chitwan is a haven for endangered wildlife; its success depends entirely on its staff. Fully trained wardens inspect the parkland and monitor the health of the animals. A warden, Mr. Basanta, will be our guide to the park, and we shall see Laxmi, a mahout, as we examine the extraordinary relationships that can form between men and their elephants.
