Watch Habitat

Habitat is a science fiction thriller that takes place in the year 2067. Earth has become uninhabitable due to climate change, and humanity has established colonies on other planets. The story follows a group of six astronauts who wake up from hypersleep to discover that their ship has malfunctioned and they are stranded on a distant planet. They must work together to find a way to survive and make contact with Earth.

The film is directed and co-written by Scott B. Hansen, and stars some up-and-coming actors like Jose Rosete, Jhey Castles, and Sabrina Culver. It's clear from the outset that Habitat was made on a relatively low budget, but the filmmakers do an admirable job of creating a convincing sci-fi world with what they had. The planet that the astronauts are stranded on is portrayed as a barren, desert-like environment with towering rock formations and an oppressive sun. The film also benefits from some strong visual effects work, particularly in the scenes involving the malfunctioning ship.

The opening sequence of the movie establishes the main characters and their relationships to one another. Andre (Jose Rosete) is the level-headed captain, while the younger crew members like Charlie (Jhey Castles) and Eva (Sabrina Culver) are more impulsive and hot-headed. The other members of the crew are Hal (Charles Leggett), a gruff engineer; Margo (Jeannine Wacker), a doctor; and Mason (Nicholas Thurkettle), a scientist. While there's clearly some tension between the various crew members, they all seem to have each other's backs and are committed to getting through this crisis.

As the group sets out to explore the planet and find a way to contact Earth, they quickly run into a series of obstacles. The first of these is a massive dust storm that forces them to take shelter in a cave. Inside the cave, they discover a strange series of tunnels that seem to have been built by an intelligent species. As they delve deeper into the tunnels, they find evidence of a long-dead civilization that appears to have been wiped out by some unknown disaster.

From this point on, the tension in the film ramps up considerably. The astronauts begin to realize that they are not alone on the planet, and that there may be some kind of predator stalking them. They also discover a strange, white substance that seems to have the ability to heal wounds and stave off hunger. This substance becomes a major plot point as the group starts to question whether it's a gift from a benevolent alien race, or something more sinister.

One of the things that makes Habitat interesting is its blend of genres. On the one hand, it's a classic survival story, as the astronauts must use their wits and resources to stay alive in a hostile environment. On the other hand, it's a mystery, as they try to unravel the secrets of the planet and the fate of its former inhabitants. And finally, it's a horror movie, as they are pursued by a terrifying creature that stalks them through the tunnels.

Overall, Habitat is an entertaining and engaging sci-fi thriller. While it may not reinvent the wheel when it comes to the genre, it's a solid entry that manages to make the most of its low budget. The characters are likable enough, the world-building is interesting, and there's enough tension and action to keep viewers engaged.
