The 2007 French film Heartbeat Detector is about the many happenings at a French petrochemical company. Many intriguing personalities mesh and interact in what is a parallel to the Auschwitz Nazi Camp, where many Jewish prisoners died in the 1930s. It's all about the personalities and their interesting lives. Mathieu Amalric stars as Simon, the shrink for a company called SC Farb. Socialism plays a prominent role, as if to say that the employees at SC Farb are more automated machines than human beings, capable of emotions and feelings. The interactions between Simon and the many employees is surreal; many employees appear to lead double lives. More than anything, this movie is about the human interactions in a workplace environment. It is an analysis of the human mind, as Freud would do.
